One of my most commonly asked questions on Instagram recently has been about my wellness journey. I have been on a journey of mind, body, and spirit to improve my overall well being and overall health. After years of raising kids and building a business, a recent diagnosis of diabetes and a family history of heart problems, I reached a point this past summer where I knew I had been putting myself on the back burner and I knew I needed to begin investing in myself again.

This journey goes far beyond "losing weight" or "fitting into a cute pair of jeans." For me, it's about becoming the best version of myself. In order to be the best wife, mother, sister, daughter, and Interior Designer that I can be, I must first reframe my mind and begin to put myself first. This journey has been and continues to be about developing a clear mind and a strong spirit. I recently went into more detail about this on IG Live over at @linenandflaxco so feel free to check that out at the bottom of this post. It will be linked for you. In this post specifically, I wanted to share a few of my goals for the future, and a few of the things that have helped me get to where I am today. I hope you enjoy!

01. Drink More Water

One of my goals is to drink more water. I recently cut out Coke and now I am trying to drink more water. I purchased a water bottle that I will link below that has time markers of how much and when to drink and I absolutely love it.

02. Daily Walk & Talk to God

Moving my body daily has been the game changer. A simple walk and talk with God turned into three miles and sometimes five. I took that time to simply chat with God about my life, crying out to Him when I needed help all the while enjoying His creation outside in our home of Roswell. Sometimes I hop on the treadmill, but I prefer to be outside in the fresh air.

03. Mindfulness With Food

I started to become more aware of what I was putting in my body when it came to lunches and dinners. As a mom and business owner on the go, I previoulsy made choices out of convenience, so simply being mindful about my food choices has been a major contributer to my journey. Actually thinking about what to eat, grocery shopping and preparing it has been a process that has helped me to practice mindfulness. With the recent diagnosis of diabetes, it was incredibly vital that I watch my sugar and carbs, so I knew I had to pay attention to what I was taking in.

One of my next goals is to invest in a personal trainer. I want to make sure that I am learning the proper form and the right way to do things from a professional.
